EXTERIOR
Finished in factory original and stunning Bermuda Blue Metallic. The paintwork boasts an amazing finish. Dry stored and strict dry weather use only by me and the previous owner (1 previous owner) from new, this example has led the ultimate pampered existence and covered a mere 22,500 miles. All lightweight panels are beautifully straight with only a few age related miniscule pinhead frontal stone chips. The electric hood is in perfect condition with electric glass screen. The folding tonneau cover is also present. The HID headlights are clear with no discoloration and the underside has been Lanoguarded in Feb 25 and is very clean.
INTERIOR
The desirable dark grey sculptured leather sports seats, (Code A), are spotlessly clean and set low so the driver is in close proximity to the chassis for perfect driver feel.. The driver’s seat lower bolster is very slightly distorted. All digital instrument displays, functions and controls operate seamlessly including the ice-(too) cold climate control and original Honda sound system. The pristine boot area houses all tools and Mobil first aid kit.
ENGINE & TRANSMISSION
The compact and lightweight 2.0i VTEC race bred F20C engine, mounted entirely behind the front axle. A power output of 235 bhp at an almost unheard of 8300rpm and 208Nm of torque at 7500rpm allows a blistering 0-62 time of 6.2 seconds and top speed 150mph. An immaculate engine bay even down to the bright red crackle finish rocker cover with none of the usual flaking. Identification plates, bulkhead chassis stamp and coloured PDI dabs confirm the absolute originality of this amazing example. The short shift 6-speed gearbox is utterly brilliant and enhances the maximum 9000rpm redline.
WHEELS, TYRES & BRAKES
Factory standard 16in sports alloys are in excellent order still retaining the factory diamond cut finish. Branded Bridgestone tyres measuring 205/55 R16 and 225/50 R16 front and rear respectively have masses of tread remaining having been replaced like for like from the originals in 2023 with less than 2,000 miles use since The space saving spare wheel has never left the boot. The anti-lock braking system (ABS) features front ventilated discs and solid rear discs to offer positive and assured stopping power.
HISTORY FILE
This Honda S2000 AP2 was manufactured up to 2009 at Honda's Takanezawa plant, alongside the NSX and this prime UK example, was registered AO06 JBX, new on the 19th March by Main Dealer, Holden Honda, Norwich. The car has covered a fully verified 22,500 miles from new with comprehensive service history in the hands of just two owners including me, aged 67, acquiring the car in June 23. The original black Honda wallet holds all vehicle handbooks, guides and dealership point of sale literature. The service booklet contains 16 stamped entries, all from Holden Honda main dealer. The most recent specialist major service was in 2023 at 20,607 miles.
The beautifully presented history book file contains corresponding Honda main dealer and specialist service invoices, maintenance receipts and MOT records. Completing the history file is an original S2000 sales brochure and book both sets of keys with remote fobs. Remaining precisely as Honda intended and preserved with wonderfully low mileage and full service history, this pampered example is a must for everyone wanting an iconic and fast-appreciating modern classic.
